See Differently with the Royal Society for the Blind

See Differently is a leading South Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people who are blind, living with low vision, or who have other support needs to live with independence, confidence and purpose. With a history stretching back over 140 years.

At its heart, the organisation champions inclusion and possibility. Its broad suite of services includes expert low-vision optometry, occupational therapy, orientation and mobility training, assistive technology solutions, peer support and counselling, and employment support pathways designed around individual goals and capabilities. These services are delivered by highly skilled professionals in collaboration with volunteers and community partners.

A unique strength of See Differently lies in its internationally recognised Guide & Assistance Dog programs, which train life-changing partners for people who are legally blind and for veterans living with post-traumatic stress. Through programs like the Puppy Program and OPK9 Assistance Dogs, these animals provide practical support, emotional connection, and a gateway to newfound independence.

Beyond direct client services, See Differently plays an active role in community education, events, and advocacy—fostering inclusivity, accessibility and awareness across South Australia and beyond. Through its work, the organisation builds bridges between individuals, workplaces, and communities to create a more equitable society where everyone can thrive.
